This has to be one of my favourite looks I’ve photographed
so far; it reflects on my taste of understated albeit still cool aesthetic for menswear. It’s
also very characteristic; the tattoos, the strong, raw face and his general
presence bestow my adoration for it. However my initial draw to photograph this
shot was largely for the beauty of it; by this I mean it wasn’t as much as the
look but more about the positioning and posture of the subject. Alongside the stirring
backdrop, he managed to create an intimate, quiet moment around himself.
Entirely disengaged from the public view or motion. Thus, by placing myself in parallel
arrangement, I attempted to capture what I envisioned of this moment, and
hence, of the subject; a private disposition.
